My wedding season started last month with the lovely wedding romantic of Lou and Helen, attended by their four children and parents it was an intimate affair. The weather was warm and sunny and they made the most of the wonderful castle courtyard with singing and dancing. I wish them both all the happiness they deserve….here are a few of the highlights…..

At the beginning of the is month I was away over to the West coast to photograph the wedding of Mirena and Grant. They had always dreamed of getting married at the castle after seeing it in the film Highlander and falling in love with it. Their family travelled from the States and Bulgaria to share this special day with them. It was a photographers dream taking photos at the beautiful Torridon Hotel and then a scenic drive over to the castle and also definitely a dream come true for the happy couple to quote Mirena
“We had an amazing time in Scotland. The wedding was a dream come true and the honeymoon was so much fun and so exciting… your homeland is absolutely gorgeous especially the Highlands and the Edinburgh architecture.
The wedding photos are absolutely stunning! I cannot tell you how many compliments I have already gotten on all of them. Thank you so much for "recording" our wedding… these are very precious memories we will always hold near and dear to our hearts! “
Here are some of the highlights of the wedding photography….
It was my first wedding of this year at the wild and wonderful Eilean Donan Castle. The Bride and groom were the lovely Heather and Robert from Skye, who had a small family ceremony at the castle followed by a meal at the Clachan Bar. Afterwards they were going on to a proper party at the village hall. the weather was kind to us it stayed dry right up to the end…see the last photos of the couple with the brollies. here are some of the highlights of the wedding photography it was fun to be part of their special day.
You wouldn’t have believed it was August! Wild rain and cold but hey it didn’t spoil Lorraine and Lee’s day. A fantastic wedding at the splendid Eilean Donan Castle. Just take a look at everyone walking back over the bridge at the end and image how wet I was….you cant hold a camera and umbrella at the same time!!!
I always love a trip over to the West coast to one of my favourite castles in Scotland but not as far as Jennifer and Daniel and their friends who travelled all the way from Illinois for this lovely personal wedding. What a splendid evening we had with such lovely sunshine….I love the photo of Jennifer walking over the bridge behind Lea the piper – she looks so thoughtful as she looks ahead at the castle…here are some of the highlights of the wedding photography…..
Alexander and Ingrid together with all their family and friends made their way over from Norway to be married at the Eilean Donan Castle as it was the Mackenzie stronghold in the 13th Century held by Kenneth Mackenzie. Ingrid looked brilliant as she travelled over the stone bridge by horse and carriage lead by two pipers………very atmospheric and not easy to keep a dry eye..here are some of their wedding photographs…please feel free to add your comments for the happy couple……
Gemma had always dreamt of having her wedding at Eilean Donan Castle ever since she first saw it on her first visit to the Highlands. They are both from Cornwall but James and his family have visited the area regularly for the last 30 years. It was just over a year ago that James proposed to Gemma in a spot that over looked the loch and castle. All their family and friend made the journey north by car and plane to be with them in the Highlands on their special day. The sun shone down and the wind stayed away and a fantastic day was had by all. After the ceremony everyone left the castle for the lovely Tingle Creek Hotel for their reception. Here are some of their wedding photographs………….Please feel free to leave your comments for the happy couple….
